Christmas Wafers – Oplatki – are available in our church vestibule. A $2 donation is asked per pack of 6 multi-colored wafers.

December 8th is Mary’s Feast of the Immaculate Conception – a Holy Day of Obligation.  Our Mass schedule will be December 7th at 5:30PM and December 8th at 9AM.

Join Us For Deacon Frank’s One Hour Adult Advent Series on Thursday Evenings, December 6th, 13th & 20th at 7PM in our Church Hall. Topic: The Mass.

Catholic Social Services Annual Christmas Drive

We are collecting new, unwrapped toys for Christmas, as well as Hats, Scarves & Gloves for children whose parents need our help. A holiday box is in our church vestibule for gift donations.

Faith Formation / Ministry

Faith Formation Classes will not be held this weekend. Classes resume next Sunday, December 2nd for all students.

  • December 2nd – making Christmas Cards during class.
  • December 15th – 5PM Christmas Movie “The Star” in the church hall. Come as a family, bring a friend, or feel free to drop your child off and do some Christmas shopping!! Pizza and snacks provided.
  • December 16th – Christmas Party during class. Please notify Rachel Kester if your child has any dietary restrictions. All items will be nut free.

Deepest Prayerful Gratitude to our 8th Grade Faith Formation Class & their catechist, Debra Kester for participating at last weekend’s 8AM Mass.

Prayer Shawl Gathering will be held on Thursday, November 27th at 6PM in the church hall. All are invited and welcome to join our ministry. If someone you know needs a prayer shawl please contact the rectory. If you aren’t able to attend a meeting, but want to donate a lap robe, shawl or afghan, please contact the rectory office. Thanks!

If you aren’t able to make an afghan, monetary donations are most welcome and appreciated. They can be made via collection basket (place in an envelope marked “Yarn/Afghans”) or sent to the rectory office. Thank You for helping us to help others.


Choir Practice – Wednesday, November 28th at 6:30PM.  New members are always welcome!  Please use your talent to praise God in Song!



Baptismal Instruction

The next class will be held on Monday, December 3rd at 7PM in the church hall. If you are expecting or recently had a baby, please call the rectory office to register for this class.


Ministry Schedules for December/January are available for pick-up in the Sacristy and are on our parish website.

Advent Pierogie Sale  – Pierogie Making takes a holiday and will be held next Monday, December 3rd. Everyone is Invited & Welcome! No Experience Necessary! Any amount of time you can volunteer is greatly appreciated. Help with Pierogie Prep at 7AM on the Sunday before each Pierogie Monday. Pierogies are $9 per dozen. Please call Mary Mack at 570-779-3626 between 9AM and 7PM to place your orders.

Pick-up times are Mondays from 1-2:30PM & 4-5:30PM


Holiday Food Baskets

We will once again address the needs of those in our parish family who may have difficulty providing a Thanksgiving dinner. Anyone wishing to make a monetary donation toward this much needed Outreach Ministry is asked to place their donation in an envelope marked “Food Basket” and drop in the basket or send to the rectory.

If you, or someone you know in our parish family, is in need of a Holiday Food Basket, please call the rectory at 570-779-9620. All calls are held in complete confidence.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development

Next weekend, November 17/18, our second collection will be for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. Over 43 million people in the United States live in poverty. This collection supports programs to empower people to identify and address the obstacles they face as they work to bring permanent and positive change to their communities. Learn more about the Catholic Campaign for Human Development at Envelopes are available in the vestibule to assist with your donations next weekend. Thank You!

Cemetery News

Effective January 1, 2019, the price for cemetery plots at St. John’s, St. Anthony’s and Sts. Cyril & Methodius will increase to $800 each (perpetual care included). Monthly payments can be made over a 24 month period. Contact Charles Prohaska, Cemetery Supervisor at 570-760-7920.
