Deepest Prayerful Gratitude… to everyone who has shown the true spirit of Christmas by adopting poinsettias to beautify our church, donating toys along with hats, scarves & gloves for Catholic Social Services Annual Christmas Drive and helping provide for Christmas Dinners for our parish family members. Jesus & Santa are most humbly proud!

Ditto Deepest Prayerful Gratitude to each and everyone who made our “Pierogie Parties” a scrumditily-umptious success!

Flowers to the Homebound –Christmas Poinsettias were delivered to our homebound parish family members this weekend. Deepest Prayerful Gratitude to all who assisted in spreading the Christmas spirit. Ditto to George Goode who provided the Poinsettias.

Kneeler Update – Many New Kneeler Pads have been recently installed. However, due to the severity of needed repairs this project is taking longer than anticipated. Repair resumes after the Holidays! Please either kneel or sit – whatever is more healthful to one’s knees! Thanks for adjusting!

Retirement Fund for Religious Religious give thanks. “This money is pure gift,” writes a religious sister of the support made possible by the Retirement Fund for Religious. “It enables us to continue providing care for our elderly sisters.” Your gift of $236.85 to last week’s collection helps hundreds of religious communities meet pressing retirement needs while continuing to serve the People of God. Thank you for your generosity!

Diocesan Annual Appeal

Did You Know… If you are 70½ or older and have a traditional individual retirement account, you can use all or part of your required minimum distribution to support your parish or the Diocesan Annual Appeal without having to count the transfers as income for federal tax purposes. Distributions must be sent directly to your parish or the Diocese by the plan administrator of your IRA. For more information, contact Jim Bebla at 570-207-2250.

Most joyous preparation

There is a joy in willing preparation, that is undiminished  no matter how small or simple the actual event that follows. We happily sweep a room for a houseguest. We lay a clean table for a family dinner. Imagine the added joy to be found in Advent preparations, that are followed by the Incarnation of God Himself!
