Our Novena to St. Anne – A Novena to St. Anne will be prayed after our weekday morning Masses, Saturday’s 4PM & Sunday’s 8AM Masses beginning this Wednesday, July 18th thru Thursday, July 26th. Copies of the Novena are available in Vestibule to take home.

1st Communion Pictures & DVDs are in the Sacristy for those who ordered. Please pick up after Mass this weekend. Thanks!

Did your Younger Son or Daughter take home a free copy of “Kidsword” today?  Available in our church vestibule.

Theme Baskets:

  • You can create your own basket
  • Make a $50.00+ donation and the committee will shop and create the basket for you
  • Join with family or friends to make a Basket.

Please place your donation in an envelope marked “Theme Basket” and drop in the collection basket. If you are making a basket, please call Sharon Baronitis at 570-639-0165 or 570-574-8129 to let her know the theme so that it won’t be duplicated. Thanks!

You still have time to make a Theme Basket! Monetary donations need to be submitted to the rectory by next Wednesday, July 25th, so our Basket People have enough time to shop for & create your Basket.

 

Pierogies

Pierogie Making for our Bazaar continues this week through July 23rd. Please mark your calendars and plan to join the fun of our Pierogie Pinching Parties from 8AM onward. No experience necessary! Pierogie Prep starts at 7:30AM each Sunday before a Pierogie Monday. Volunteers for Sunday & Monday are most welcome & appreciated!

Help Needed to transport pierogies to our Park Freezers for an hour each Pierogie Monday Evenings. Please call the rectory if you are able to help.

 

Flea Market a.k.a. Fr. Jerry’s Attic: Kitchen-ware & Household goods, Decorative & Seasonal items, Toys & Tools, Jewelry & Outdoor things, Anything & Everything except clothing, encyclopedias, furniture, stuffed animals, or TVs – can be brought to our church hall weekdays, from 8AM-12Noon or before and after the weekend Masses. August 1st is the last day for drop-off.

 

 

 

Bucket Stand: We supply the buckets, can you supply the contents? Needed are Paper & Cleaning Products as well as new – Non-Perishable Food Items. This is a very popular stand, so we’ll have lots of buckets to fill! Thanks for not kicking but filling a bucket!

 

 

Arts, Crafts, & Hand-Made Stands: Whether you work with wire or lace, wood or cloth, or any substance… please create something for our Bazaar. All sizes & types of hand-crafted items are needed and can be used.

Raffle Tickets: If you haven’t done so yet, please send in your returns as soon as possible. This will help cut down on long lines at the Bazaar. Raffle Ticket stubs with your $10 payment & $10 payment for your refreshment ticket, (which you keep & exchange for food tickets at Bazaar) may be made via collection basket, mail or during rectory office hours. When making your ticket returns via collection basket, please be sure to mark it Ticket Returns. You may also pick up additional tickets at the rectory during office hours.

Bazaar Donations: Please mark monetary donations “Bazaar Donations” and drop in the collection basket, or send to the rectory office. Watch bulletin for drop-off dates & times to bring stand items to the church hall.

Volunteer: It takes so many people to make this Bazaar the success it is. We are always in need of volunteers! Any amount of time you can give is greatly appreciated. Sign up to work at our picnic… Please return your volunteer sign-up sheet via collection basket, mail or drop off at parish office. Thank You!


Faith Formation / Ministry

  • Registrations for next year are now due. Please return it to the rectory office or drop in the collection basket. No payment is required until the start of classes in the fall.
  • Any student in 2nd grade in Catholic school next year should also register at this time. They will be advised of dates for parent meetings and the date to join Faith Formation class to prepare for First Reconciliation and First Communion.
  • Any student who is registering for the first time and was not baptized at St. John’s must provide a copy of their Baptismal Certificate at the first class in September.

Baptismal Instruction – The next class will be held on Monday, August 6th at 7PM in the church hall. If you are expecting or recently had a baby, please call the rectory office to register for this class.

New Altar Server Class begins soon. All ages welcome! If interested, please call the rectory (570-779-9620) and leave name & phone #. Thanks for serving at Our Lord’s Table.

God may be calling you… to be a Lector, Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, Altar Server, Usher, Greeter, or Choir Member. Thanks for answering His call by calling the rectory at 570-779-9620.

Prayer Shawl Meeting and Work Session will be held on Thursday, July 26th at 6PM in the church hall. All are invited and welcome to join our ministry. If someone you know needs a prayer shawl please contact the rectory. If you aren’t able to attend a meeting, but want to donate a lap robe, shawl or afghan, please contact the rectory office. Thanks!

If you aren’t able to make an afghan, monetary donations are most welcome and appreciated. They can be made via collection basket (place in an envelope marked “Yarn/Afghans”) or sent to the rectory office. Thank You for helping us to help others.


Peter’s Pence

Thank you for your generous support in last week’s Peter’s Pence Collection! As a parish, we collected $353.15. Our contributions will be combined with those from our brothers and sisters around the world to help Pope Francis provide essential relief to people in need.
